We are proud to announce that Brooks Hannas & Partners has been subcontracted to implement the Bio-Waste 5 Regions Project (BW5R) in Serbia, a groundbreaking project under the
EU’s Green Agenda for the Western Balkans.

This two-year project addresses biowaste management in 25 municipalities across five waste regions (Subotica, Pančevo, Sremska Mitrovica, Užice, and Pirot), diverting up to 40,000 tonnes of biodegradable waste, from landfill to composting, annually.

Through infrastructure investments, public awareness campaigns, capacity building, and technical assistance BW5R will support local governments to provide a better service to their citizens. This is a major step forward in supporting Serbia’s circular economy and meeting EU environmental standards. Together, we are contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable future for the region!

The project is led by the Particip GmbH consortium, with funding provided by the European Union. The Ministry of Environmental Protection of Serbia serves as the main beneficiary, ensuring alignment with national
priorities and policies.
